The Marian Anderson Award has been created to celebrate the fundamental importance of the arts—those individuals who have used their talents for personal artistic expresssion coupled with a commitment to the betterment of society. It is named in memory of the legendary singer and distinguished Philadelphian, Marian Anderson.
